Information you give us.

Payment transactions

Any payment transactions will be encrypted by Spotify Inc as our data processor.

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Spotify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted. 

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. 

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Marketing

We strive to provide you with choices regarding certain personal data uses, particularly around marketing and advertising. We will only send you our electronic marketing materials where it is in our legitimate interests to do so, in accordance with applicable data protection legislation (or where we have otherwise separately obtained your consent).

We may share your information with third parties including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Experian, Yahoo, Google and Bing in order to improve your experience and service. Generally, we do not rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your personal data although we will seek your consent before third party direct marketing communications are sent to you via email or text message. You can ask us to stop sending you marketing messages at any time by logging into the online customer portal and checking or unchecking relevant boxes to adjust your marketing preferences or by following the opt-out links on any marketing message sent to you or by contacting us at any time using the details provided below.

Change of purpose

We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose. If we need to use your personal information for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you in a timely manner and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so.

Disclosure Of Your Personal Data To Third Parties

Internal third parties

Your personal information will also be shared with our third-party service providers and business partners who assist with the running our Sites, our business, our services and products including hosting providers, email service providers and SMS providers.   • Business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you. This includes Spotify Inc. who supply the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you on the Sites and distributors we use to deliver products to you.
  • Advertisers and advertising networks that require the data to select and serve relevant adverts to you and others. We do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to our advertisers, but we will provide them with aggregate information about our users (for example, we may inform them that 500 men aged under 30 have clicked on their advertisement on any given day). We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target (for example, women in SW1). We may make use of the personal data we have collected from you to enable us to comply with our advertisers' wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience.
  • Analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our Sites.
  • Credit reference agencies for the purpose of assessing your credit score where this is a condition of us entering into a contract with you.

No fee usually required

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with your request in these circumstances.

What we may need from you

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response.

Time limit to respond

We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.
